Thursday, January 30 during Catholic Schools Week, Father Steve from Mary Help of Christians came to share some inspiring words with the high school students about how faith being taught isn’t enough, and it is important to live it as well.
By using the examples of a Christian, Disciple, Apostle and Prophet, Father Steve showed the different depths of faith and how students need to work hard to grow in their faith. He gave the advice of, “we have to strive to be Saints.” Students shouldn’t wait to be a good person but become one now.
Father Steve talked about how important it is to reflect on our lives.
“Stop playing around with your one and only life,” were the words of wisdom he had to offer the students. The assembly gave the students a chance to realize how important their faith really is. Junior Claire Cardillo felt, “a sense of realization that I can make a difference and the person I am effects others ” after hearing Father Steve.
Father Steve is in charge of Mary Help of Christians which is always looking for the support of volunteers!
