If you’re bored with that short haircut that you got when you were feeling daring a few months ago you must now be realising that hair does not grow back at the snap of a finger. It’s true having long hair takes time to grow out. Here are some ways the process can be sped up so, you can get back to feeling like a mermaid princess swimming through her underwater palace with her long flowing locks flowing in the water behind her:
Massage your scalp.
Experts say that scalp massages help to stimulate the blood flow which helps the nutrients get to the follicles more quickly.
Flip your head upside down.
It is proven that doing this for about two minutes a day helps circulation which promotes faster hair growth.
Eat a healthy diet.
Eating foods rich in protein and vitamins is not only good for overall health but also great for hair health too. Foods high in vitamins A, B, C, and E, iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, and vitamin B-complex, is extremely important for making your hair grow faster. Include foods like milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs, whole grains, salmon, spinach, broccoli, bell peppers, cabbage, parsley, grapefruit, avocado, brown bread, oats, and alfalfa in your diet to nourish your hair and scalp. Drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices, such as orange, grapefruit, carrot, beet, and lettuce juice.
Use oil treatments.
Oil treatments can restore damaged hair and can be very relaxing. Some of the best oils to use are: linen oil, olive oil, coconut oil, argan oil and jojoba oil. The oil should be slightly warmed and massaged on the scalp for ten to 15 minutes. Leave it in for 30 minutes then shampoo the hair thoroughly.
Move ponytail placement.
Changing this up prevents breakage in the hair strands so these hairs can grow longer and stay healthy.
Rinse your hair with cold water at the end of the shower.
Before you step out of the shower, rinse your hair in cold water for a few seconds. This will help seal your hair cuticles, and prevent heat damage. Also avoid using scalding hot water when washing you hair it can weaken your strands just as heat tools weakens strands.
Get your hair trimmed regularly
This may seem counterproductive but healthy hair is proven to grow faster. The split ends can travel up the strands slowing possible growth.
NEVER forget to condition.
Conditioner is very important to having healthy hair. Shampoo rids the hair of all the built up dirt and grime while conditioner replenishes the nutrients the hair needs to be soft and shiny.
Try not to use heat tools so much.
The heat you are putting directly on your hair is very damaging. You can protect your hair with many different products so less damage is caused and your hair growth is not hindered.
Do not neglect your hair while you’re sleeping.
Never sleep with a tight ponytail or a tight braid, it won’t help your hair grow faster. All it will do is cause breakage of your hair and pain in your scalp. Sleep with a loose ponytail instead. Also, try to sleep on a silk pillowcase; it won’t cause friction and it’s much kinder to your hair, than cotton pillow covers. Less friction equals less breakage.
