As the seniors enter their last week, they will walk the halls for the last time as a student with some of their closest friends who are younger than them. The seniors share so many memories with their friends in different grades whether they played on the same team, participated in the same club, or clicked just from hanging out. With most fond memories, there is a special song that goes along with them. Here is a list of some of these bittersweet tunes that seniors shared with their sisters in different grades.
“I’ll Be Here” – Nicole Browne and Miranda Plummer
Taken from the musical Ordinary Days, the song “I’ll Be Here” is the finale as the lead role, Claire, chooses to stay with her boyfriend and move in after debating it throughout the whole musical. Browne and Plummer loved to listen to this song on the ride home from their crew practice every day.
“If I Believe You” – Olivia Stevens, Audrey Anello, and Gabbi Vivero
Stevens, Anello, and Vivero spend a considerable amount of time together and love the song “If I Believe You.” They share a love for the 1975 band and go to all the concerts that they can with each other.
“Do-Re-Mi” – Kendall Bulleit and Remi Storch
While working in the Dominican Republic over mini-course, Bulleit and Storch would keep themselves occupied with singing “Do-Re-Mi” through their activities.
Senior Remi Storch shares that “we are not allowed any technology while in the DR, so we have to sing the songs that we memorized and ‘Do-Re-Mi’ is just a classic that everyone knows the words to.”
“All I Want for Christmas is You” – Camille Yogis and Anne Marie Yatsula
From becoming fast friends on the swim team, Yogis and Yatsula jam to the song “All I Want for Christmas is You” every time they are in the car together, no matter what time of the year it is.
“Scholarship” – Hannah Menendez and Julia Lester
Warming up for soccer games ever since Melendez joined the team as a Freshman, she would get pumped to this song with Lester and it became something they had to hear before every game.
Junior Hannah Menendez claims that “every time I hear this song now, I think of Julia and high school soccer and it makes me miss it so much.”
“It’s Tricky” – Avery Stanechewski and Camille Opp
Stanechewski and Opp used this song to warm up for all of their volleyball games, sometimes even listening it more than once before their games.
Junior Camille Opp states that “whether it was a home or away game, Avery and I always found time to listen to the song.”
“Cough Syrup” – Lizzie Dolan and Molly Johnson
After bonding over the Mississippi mission trip, Dolan and Johnson became close friends and always listen to the song “Cough Syrup” by Young the Giant together because they share a love for the band.
“Erase Me” – Alex Perez and Molly Fleming
Since Perez and Fleming have been playing volleyball on the same team for two years, they have developed a strong friendship. Within the memories they have made, the song “Erase Me” has become an anthem of theirs to sing every time they are together.
