Members of student council were able to meet the class of 2023 at their freshman orientation. Junior class representative Julianna Bland ('21) helped organize the event. "They seem eager and ready to get into everything our school has to offer,” says Bland.

Class of 2023 First Impressions

August 19, 2019

The freshmen class of 2023 has just started their first year at AHN. While adjusting to their new classes, activities, and friends, each of them have gained their first impressions of the Academy.

“The all girls environment really makes it feel like a true sisterhood,” says Ximena Sanchez (’23).

Here are some of the class of 2023 first impressions:

  • "It's only my third day here, so I don't really have a favorite class, teacher, or area in particular," says Amelia Vitello ('23). "I am really excited to join clubs. I plan on joining ambassadors and the crew team."

  • "What stands out the most is the amount of freedom we have compared to middle school. It's so nice that we can use our phones in the hallway. Whenever we need to text our parents or check our schedules we have the option right there," says Ella Fernandez ('23).

  • "My favorite teacher so far is Mrs. Rodriguez. I really like how personal her class is. It always feels like she cares and wants to get to know you," says Riley Hampton ('23).

  • "My first impressions of Academy came from the freshman orientation. Everyone here is just so welcoming, kind-hearted, and spirited. Every person I see says good morning and ask if I need any help," says Mykhia Pursley ('23).

  • "Academy, an all girls school, is very different from the co-ed middle school I attended. To be honest, I don't really notice that there aren't any boys in my classes anymore. Everyone is more focused," says Sydney Thomas ('23).
