The Jaguarettes competed at the Universal Dance Associations Regional Championships over the MLK weekend.
This past week, the Academy Jaguarettes placed at regionals and in lieu of their win, here is some insight on the preparation that the Jaguarettes go through each day of their season in order to execute their flawless performances.
On a regular game day a Jaguarette will:
Wake up at 6:00
Flat Iron hair
Pack the costume, makeup, shoes, and pre-game practice clothes for the day
Listen to the music for the dance on repeat all day
Get açai bowls with the team

Samantha Cano and Audrey Diaz get açai bowls before big games to energize for their dance.
Get ready and pumped by listening to great music with the team
Cheer on basketball or volleyball team
Dance like pros at half time
Freshman Mary Kelly Cardillo said, “Dancing at halftime is easily one of my favorite parts of being on the team because I get to dance with my favorite people while supporting my school.”

USF invited the Jaguarette team to perform at the mens basketball game against Tulane.
Cheer some more
Going home or to studio practice dead tired
Do homework and stretch
Junior Sam Cano said, “Being a Jaguarete can be tough, tiring, and time consuming… but I love it more than anything!”
Jaguarettes are the backbone of our sport teams’ cheer system and Academy is beyond grateful for all the work they do.
