x2VOL changes the way AHN girls submit service hours
November 8, 2018
This year, the campus ministry office has introduced the new program x2VOL for students to submit their service hours throughout the year.
Campus Ministry Coordinator Katie Holland says, “Ultimately, I believe this new tracking software will allow for greater transparency for students to see which hours have been recorded, and it will be easier for students to submit hours. I am also hopeful that students will use the program to sign up for service events when organizations need volunteers. It has been a process to train everyone, and even I am still learning new things about the program, but long term, I believe this will be a great tool to encourage students to go out into our community and serve others. The major difference between the old system and the new system of tracking service hours is that the online process makes it easier for both students and their “activity contact.” Now, instead of a signature from the leader of the community service project, students can ask for an email address or phone number and they will be sent a message asking them to confirm the hours completed.
Isabella Duarte (21’) says, “I feel like it is a positive change because I would always forget to bring my old form to my service events and it would be a struggle to go back to get it signed. This new system makes it so much easier to submit our service hours. I think it will even help us earn more service hours altogether as a school.
The most popular opinion on the new system has been that with x2VOL, AHN girls can physically see their hours when they are submitted and the hours can be easily viewed. Students are now able to track their hours much easier and see how much they have earned or how much they must still complete in order to fulfill the requirements.
Ellie Warnke (’22) says, “I find x2VOL super easy to use and I love how we can track our hours. It even shows the hours I completed over the summer and through my clubs.”

A new aspect of x2VOL is the option to submit hours and fulfill a requirement for service clubs such as Beta Club or Key Club at the same time. This way, students can input their hours and receive credit for their work all in one place.
Key Club Vice President Lauren Jones (’20) says, “In reference to Key Club hours, the hours completed by members will be submitted through Ms. Adams via the sign-up sheet at your event. Club members are not required to be inputted into x2Vol directly by the student.”
Holland also says, “If anybody has any specific questions or does not believe their service hours have been accurately recorded, they are welcome to come and see me in the Campus Ministry Office.”
