Academy Family Opens New Business: Nekter

Ella Heilman’s (20) father, Scott Heilman, just recently opened a Juice Bar on Kennedy Blvd. The Juice Bar, Nekter, has been receiving great reviews on their acai bowls and smoothies. Their menu consists of juices, smoothies, acai bowls, blends, and skoops.

Heilman says, “Nekter Juice Bar is a chain that originally started in California, but has recently opened in other states like Arizona and Colorado, and now in Tampa! Nekter is known for their juices and smoothies, and most importantly, acai bowls; all of which are made from healthy and yummy ingredients.”

Heilman’s favorite thing on the menu is the Tropical Cooler Fusion Blend because it offers a refreshing taste and contains low calories.

Scott Heilman says, “I was looking for business opportunities for awhile and had been watching Nekter’s growth nationwide. I feel like it’s a perfect fit for the lifestyle of myself and my family. It’s a great opportunity to be able to bring affordable, natural, hand-crafted Acai bowls, smoothies, and juices to Tampa, and I’m really enjoying serving the area I’ve lived and raised my kids for 15 years.”

Nekter is a great place to stop after school to grab a quick, healthy snack at low prices. The prices range anywhere between $3 to $15, depending on the size ordered.

Gloria Bufano (‘19) says, “I love acai bowls, and I was super excited to see a new acai place on my route home from school. They are super refreshing and healthy, and my mom loves that I don’t spend a fortune on them. I think it’s really cool that such a great and yummy place is owned by a dad of an Academy student. I feel a little connection when I walk in there.”
