AHN Christmas concert 2021
December 15, 2021
A yearly tradition at the Academy is the Christmas concert hosted by the performing arts classes. This year, on Thursday, December 9, and Friday, December 10, the performance took place in the Brady Center in two rounds. On Thursday afternoon, the junior and senior students viewed the show and on Friday, the freshmen and sophomores had the chance to watch their classmates. The split performance led to a more intimate concert which made everyone more comfortable and excited to sing and dance along. As always, the performances brought the holiday spirit in this year’s Christmas concert, creating a memorable afternoon for the students as they enter midterms. This year, students from the String Ensemble, Quarter Notes, and the Jaguarettes performed in the Christmas concert. A special touch for students was being greeted by Santa and candy canes that were placed on their seats. The dancing, singing, and other musical performances made for an exceptional show that brought everyone into the holiday spirit.
Juliana Yanez shares her favorite part of the show saying, “I had so much fun at this year’s Christmas concert. It was a really fun way to spend the afternoon having fun with my classmates before midterms. My Favorite part was when all of the students came together to sing the last song together.”
Quarter Note Taylor Schweitzer explained that this was one of her favorite traditions as a student at the Academy saying, “I always love the Christmas concert every year because it’s a great way to get all of the high school students together for some holiday cheers. Even a little amount of time for us to take a second and not worry about grades and exams is always special.”
