The Academy participates in sunrise yoga

December 7, 2021

On Wednesday, December 1, the POWER club hosted a morning yoga in the oak grove before the school day began. The class was taught by Danielle McClendon and all the proceeds collected went to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women fund. Ximena Sanchez (’23), a co-chair and organizer for this event, said, “I’m glad we were able to have an opportunity to delve into yoga and thankful to Mrs. McClendon for volunteering to partake in this with us. I’m very proud of how much we raised and for our school community coming together.”

The event was able to raise 200 dollars that were donated. Madison Kwo said, “It was a great experience, especially starting my day centered and ready for anything. I am glad that I was able to donate, even a small amount, to such a good cause.”
