Sock Religious Offers a New Way to Show Your Faith

Fun sock Friday is very popular among teachers and students at Academy. One brand of socks that is gaining popularity is Sock Religious. This company creates socks with prints displaying different Saints, religious articles, and even the Pope.

What is the message of Sock Religious? According to their website, “Sock Religious aims to bring the faith to the workplace and to spice up your Sunday best.” Because of social media outlets such as Instagram, their message is spreading. Other Catholic Instagram pages have been promoting and featuring them in giveaways.

A few students in the school started wearing the socks for Fun Sock Friday, and now other students and teachers are interested in them, too. 

“I think that the Catholic socks are just really a good way to . . . spread our faith because people ask questions about your socks, like, ‘What’s that on your sock?’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, it’s Mary’ and you can explain it,” said senior Emily Nash.

The socks tend to follow the same pattern of displaying the image of a Saint, and corresponding a quote from that Saint on the bottom of the foot. Sock Religious offers adult socks for $14 and children’s socks for $10.
