During the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sporting events of the year, many people look forward to the multimillion dollar commercials which have become synonymous with the Super Bowl. However, for those who follow social media, Twitter provided its own source of entertainment. Here are some of Twitter’s best tweets from Super Bowl LI.

Through the duration of the game between the Atlanta Falcons and Patriots, there were various highs and lows. The Atlanta Falcons were winning 21-3 at halftime and the Patriots seemed like a lost cause. Contrary to the viewers’ thoughts, Tom Brady, the Patriots’ quarterback, turned the game around at the beginning of the half quarter. Brady then led his team to victory in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history.

Junior, Alyssa Losauro said, “I really did think the Falcons had it in the bag, so I watched the halftime performance and went to go finish homework and while I was doing my homework I heard yelling from my living room. I went out there and looked at the TV and realized what had happened so I watched the rest of the game. I was really excited to experience Super Bowl History with the first overtime game and I’m happy for the Patriots.”

Although for the first time in Super Bowl History, the game was won in overtime, reactions on Twitter throughout the game were on fire and provided hours of additional entertainment.

Freshman, Peyton Finn said, “I was rooting for the Falcons and I was so satisfied with the first half of the game. I thought they had it under control, but when the third quarter started, I was immediately on my toes. I’m happy for the Patriots but wish the Falcons would have been successful. No matter what, I’ll be a Falcons fan.”
