AHN Prepares for All Saints Day

All Saints Day rapidly approaches,  as Academy prepares for the traditional Mass celebration here at Academy on Thursday morning, November 1.

All Saints Day commemorates all the canonized and beatified saints in the Catholic Church,  the saints we know by name and the ones whom only God remembers. Although most saints have their own feast days, All Saints Day provide the opportunity to celebrate them all at one time.

This day reminds all Christians to strive to follow the footsteps of God. The saints provide excellent examples of how we should act in our daily lives, putting God first in all things. The Saints were humans like us and now live in paradise with our heavenly Father.  Their example should motivate us to do our best so that one day we may also be able to enjoy the pleasures of heaven.

Father Steve Ryan from Mary Help of Christians will celebrate the Mass in the Brady Center .   Intentions for the Mass will be for Mr. and Mrs. Myles O’Connor, who are celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The Worship Band, Academy’s mass choir and musicians, have been practicing tirelessly in preparation for this important liturgy.
