It's that time again... AHN prepares for Trunk-or-Treat

On Sunday, October 28, the elementary school’s seventh annual Trunk-or-Treat will display the creativity of the Academy students while getting everyone into the Halloween spirit. Children and parents will decorate their trunks in a tailgate atmosphere.  Each year there are usually 30 to 40 decorated trunks to thrill children with a safe Trick-or-Treat experience.

The trunks are judged and placed into categories that range from Most Bootiful to Most Spooktacular to two Little Screams categories. The Little Screams trunks are designed completely by students without the help of any adults.

Mrs. JoAnne Linkner,  Director of the Annual Fund and Special Events, said,  “Trunk-or-Treat  is a great way for our children to be on campus with their friends and celebrate Halloween on a day other than Halloween in a safe environment.” The event is also “another excuse for the kids to wear their costumes.”

All children are welcome to arrive for the trick or treating even if they are not participating in the competition. There will be a DJ coordinating games and competitions for the children to participate in as well.

In addition to this fun-filled event, the high school’s Student Council is setting up the Haunted Basement, which older children can experience as well. Members of the Student Council will spend the majority of Sunday transforming the Academy basement into a bone-chilling, skin-crawling setting.

Anxiously awaiting Trunk-or-Treat,  Academy students, faculty, and parents are anticipating a night full of excitement and surprises.   Mrs. Linker said,  ” We are excited to celebrate our seventh year that brings our Academy families together. ‘
