Academy students, young and old, had an opportunity to hear “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” one more time.

The Senior Class of 2013 selected Elf, a hilarious Christmas film, for the annual fundraiser Movie on the Lawn. Will Ferrell’s comical character of Buddy the Elf perfectly captured the spirit of Christmas.

This year the Senior Class raised $3,495 for the Senior Endowment. The five senior class officers Anna Cevallos, Alexandra Diaz, Cailin Dunne, Tori Litschgi, and Grace Spurgin contributed countless hours into preparing for the event.

Although the seniors put on the event, students from every grade attended the movie, with the elementary school leading the pack with 105 in attendance. Second in attendance were the adults at 90 and high school at 85. Middle school students came in as the lowest attendees at 50.

The temperate weather brought in customers for sno-cones and hot chocolate. Seniors took shifts working the ticket table, painting faces, and serving snacks at the successful food booth. Aside from providing treats and the movie, the officers recruited Santa to make a personal appearance and take photos with the young kids.
