Mother- Daughter Dinner 2015
The traditional Mother-Daughter Dinner happened on February 12 at the Rusty Pelican. Academy mothers tagged along with their daughters at around 6:30 to take pictures and particiapte in this wonderful event. After pictures were taken, the guests were served their meal: chicken, vegetables, and a chocolate cake. This yearly event is a way to bring mothers and daughters together and a fun way to meet everyone’s moms!
This year’s theme was based around the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The student council focused on using the Tiffany blue color in their decorations. According to junior Alejandra Lozano, “we collected Gasparilla beads and separated the whites and used them for centerpieces.”
This is a very sentimental event for the seniors. They reminisce on the past four years and the senior class puts together a video where each girl says something to their mom thanking them and saying how much they will miss them next year. The videos are always emotional and just like every year, there was not a dry eye in the building.
Many mothers loved the wonderful event and agreed it was well-organized and very fun. “It is a nice tradition for the mothers and their daughters to have a special event every year. We look forward to it. we are sad that it is our last year.”, exclaimed senior mother, Judy Raab.
