This past Saturday, April 1, Academy hosted an Easter egg hunt for the Academy alumni and their small children, ages zero to ten. The event was hosted on campus from 10:00AM to 11:30AM, mainly in the areas of the courtyard, playground, and the oak grove. Donut holes and juice boxes were available to the children as they played and did fun activities.

Many activities were offered for the children such as an Easter egg hunt, an egg race, cookie decorating, and a visit from the Easter bunny. Both the egg hunt and race had prizes offered to the winners. Baskets, candy, and stuffed animals were the types of prizes given away to the children.

For the Easter egg hunt, the children were split up into three age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-10. Each age group had their own egg hunt where there was a golden egg to be found and whoever found it would win a huge Easter basket filled with goodies, toys, and a stuffed animal. Each hunt was hosted in a different area around campus, either the playgroup, oak grove, or courtyard.

The reason Academy puts on the fun event is to expose the alumni’s children to the campus to see if they enjoy being here and would be interested in enrolling in the middle school program.

Director of alumni relations, Patty Bohannan says, “It’s just such a fun day and great event to see all the alumni and their children having a good time on our campus. We expose our different facilities to the children in order to show them how great of a place it is and hope to get them to want to enroll here.”
