Preview of the Rose Project 2021

November 9, 2020

During the spring, Academy has a week dedicated to mission trips called The Rose Project. This year,  because of COVID-19, Rose Week is going to look a little bit different. Students won’t be able to go on mission trips or local service trips like usual this year. However, the Mission and Ministry Office is working hard to guarantee students will still be able to help the communities that they would usually be visiting in person.

Junior and Senior leaders have been selected to come up with a service project for The Rose Project. On Nov. 2, there was an interest meeting for upperclassmen interested in leading a project the week of March 1-4. The application for interested students is up on Veracross.

During Rose Week, students will be spending part of the day learning about different communities and the other half of the day helping that community remotely. Depending on what the COVID-19 pandemic looks like in March, there could be some after school local service opportunities.

Even though the Rose Project will be different this year at its core it will stay the same. The Rose Project is a time for us to give back to communities all over the world while growing closer with your AHN sisters.

Hannah Ribinski (23) said, “I am looking forward to the Rose Project because I feel like it is time to bond with your friends while helping out in your community I don’t think COVID is going to change that aspect of the Rose Project and it will still be a fun experience.” This year students will have a different Rose Project experience but it won’t take away from the bonding or the good work that they will be doing.

Remember the Rose Project is a time for us to come together as a community to help other communities. It is also a time for us to be grateful for everything we have and remember that there are people who struggle every day to do things that we look over like putting a meal on the table for their family. So the Rose Project is not only a time for us to help less fortunate communities but also for us to be grateful for all that we have.
