Academy peps up prior to spirit week

Spirit Week, held every year by the Golden Girls Club is a week that consists of dressing up as popular trends, ideas, activities, or people. It will include some fun and fresh activities during lunch, and conclude Friday with an all-school pep rally.
Students around the school have already expressed their enthusiasm for the themes. Sofia Girgenti (‘23) said, “I am very excited for Adam Sandler day. I don’t usually dress up for spirit days, but I can definitely get behind that one.”
Every day is a different theme, beginning with Monday, March 28 as Y2K day. On Tuesday make sure you wear your baggiest shorts and biggest t-shirts for Adam Sandler day. For Wednesday, you don’t even have to change in the morning: roll out of bed because it’s PJ day with a twist- bring everything but a backpack. For Thursday, make sure to break out the cowboy boots and hats, or if that’s not your thing, maybe a tennis skirt and a visor because that day is country vs. country club. On Friday, April 1, don’t forget to wear your brightest shirt because Spirit Week concludes with a Neon day.
Junior Julia Lombardi said, “I am very excited for Y2K day. I am planning to wear my turquoise Juicy Couture velour tracksuit.”
Not only is the dress-up exciting but there will be some activities and contests during lunch that will amp up the spirit. On Monday in the Brady center, there will be some 2000s karaoke music, and on Tuesday, also during lunch, there will be some Adam Sandler trivia. Wednesday there will be the best Pajama contest, and Thursday there is a chance for students to line dance during lunch in the Brady Center and partake in a golf ball scavenger hunt. Additionally, if you are picked as a winner in any of these contests you have a Chill Bros gift card to look forward to.
