As the final bell rang on Friday afternoon, students at the Academy of the Holy Names eagerly flooded out of the hallways, ready to embrace a long-awaited spring break. Whether jetting off to Europe, hitting the slopes, or soaking up the sun, AHN girls made the most of their time off with unforgettable adventures.
Junior Josie O’Brien spent her spring break exploring Europe, fully experiencing the continent’s rich culture and history. She wandered the cobblestone streets of Paris and admired London’s architecture, making memories that will last a lifetime.

O’Brien includes, “I went to Europe for the first time with my family, and it was a great experience getting to learn new cultures and meet new people, and it surprised me how nice the people were because they would all smile at everyone and have genuine conversations.”

Maddie Sobel also chose a European getaway, heading to Portugal for a week of exploration.

She says,“I went to Portugal over spring break, and it was such an amazing trip. I traveled with my friend Victoria and visited Lisbon and Porto. My favorite part was going shopping and walking around. The whole trip was amazing.” Halle Sweeney ’27 spent her break skiing in Park City, Utah, a destination her family has visited nearly every year since she was four.
Sweeney quotes, “We skied in Deer Valley daily, walked around Main Street, and went to dinner and shopped. “It’s such a big part of my life, and I can’t wait to go each year. I love the weather change, spending time with family, and being able to ski all day.”
Junior Addyson Moad also opted for a wintry escape, heading to Beaver Creek, Colorado, with fellow Junior friends Isabella Scaperotto and Avery Pento.

“One of my favorite parts of the trip was waking up early to get on the slopes. We were waiting in line, wishing it would snow, and not even two minutes later, it started snowing just in time for us to ski the rest of the day with fresh powder,” said Moad ’26.
Rowan Alexander ’25 traveled to Belize for a tropical adventure with her family. She adds, “My favorite part of the trip was snorkeling. We went out on a boat and swam with sharks. Afterwards, we visited a small island and had lunch. It was such a great time with my family, and we had amazing food.”
Though the break seemed to fly by, it gave students the chance to recharge before heading into the final stretch of the school year. Whether they spent it by the ocean, on the slopes, or simply at home, AHN students made the most of their well-deserved spring break, creating memories to carry with them through the busy months to come.
