At Academy of the Holy Names, leadership is in all the students. It’s more than a title, it’s a responsibility in service and community. This school year, the student body proudly welcomes its new Student Council President, Ali Ibanez; and Vice President, Gaby Cossi. Two young women committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of their peers.

“I decided to run because it has been a goal of mine ever since freshman year and being able to be the voice of the student body to administration is such an exciting role and I love that I get so many opportunities to meet and talk to girls of all grade levels.” President Ali Ibanez (‘26) said.

The newly elected President brings a passion and student engagement, with a plan to expand student involvement in campus activities. President Ibanez creates a stronger communication between students and faculty. She is eager to make our school year filled with spirit, unity, and purpose.

Ali Ibanez (‘26) said “Some ideas I have planned are videos to hype up certain student council planned events, and more publicity on social media.”

Supporting her in this journey is the Vice President, Gaby Cossi, a driven creative leader who has already made an impact within the community. Cossi has great organization and a heart for collaboration, she is focused on building a more connected community with AHN and ensuring that every voice is heard.

Gaby Cossi (‘26) said “I think that as vice president it’s important to support the president and the rest of the council to ensure that we are all working together and putting on the best events possible. Ali and I work closely together and are constantly communicating and bouncing ideas off each other. We make sure that everything is well planned and thought out, taking into account everyone’s ideas and opinions.”

With both Ali and Gaby leading the school pride, students can look forward to fun events, better communication, and a stronger sense of school spirit. Their dedication is powerful by  making AHN an exciting place for everyone to feel welcomed.

As the years go one, the Student Council will continue to listen and bring the study body together. Passing on the legacy once the two seniors graduate.

Giada Brestelli (‘27) said “I love what they have done for our school. I love their energy at pep rallies and what they bring to the student body.”
