Silver

She said, “‘Silver’ is an acrylic painting on a mini canvas. This piece has quite an emotional meaning behind it. I created this as a gift for my mom over Christmas break. Unfortunately, late last year, my family lost our beloved cat, Silver, who was only ten at the time. It was a completely devastating and unexpected time for my family. This is still a bit difficult for me to ascertain, but my intention with sharing this painting was not to express bitterness and sorrow, but to commemorate a valued and influential part of my life. Silver was and will always be loved and cherished; he will forever hold a special place in not only my heart, but my family’s hearts as well. He was my companion while I spent hours at my workstation drawing, painting, crafting, and experimenting. I will never forget the days he would collapse on top of my nearly completed charcoal drawings, or when he would try to snatch my working pencil in the middle of my sketching process. I know now that whenever I pick up my pencil he will always be with me, and nothing can or ever will change that.”
