BLUEga Whale

February 18, 2022

This piece was submitted by Chloe Pleasants (’24).

In regards to her work, she writes, “I constructed this piece by using acrylic paint. In the painting, a beluga whale can be seen. A beluga whale was chosen in order to bring a smile to the viewer’s face because they are extremely cute. The monochromic aspect of the work allows the viewer to focus on the piece’s shading. The color blue was chosen to show the whale’s serenity. By the darkness and stillness of the whale, the mood is serene. The intent of BLUEga Whale is to give viewers a delighted and peaceful feeling through all of the techniques.”
