In regards to her work, she writes, “I saw some pictures on the internet of umbrellas floating in the air and I thought it would be interesting to replicate. When you look at the umbrellas, they appear to be flying up into the sky, just as real ones do. The shading I used in this painting is supposed to symbolize the precarious nature of umbrellas during harsh rain and wind.”
