Academy students support Thanksgiving dinner for Faith Children's Home

Student Council (SC) and Faith Children’s Home Club (FCH) members joined hands this past week to sponsor a Thanksgiving food drive for FCH residents.  Results? Fantastic!  By end of day on Wednesday, November 16, the office of Assistant Principal Mr. Jack Mullarkey bulged at the scene with cans, jars and other food products that will grace the holiday tables at FCH.

Under the direction of SC Moderator Mrs. Ginny Van Pelt and FCH Moderator Ms. Maureen Kearney, Student Council members assigned homerooms specific categories of food to donate, from pickles to gravy.  Students responded to the request with enthusiasm so by mid week donations began to pile up.

After hauling the food donations from each homeroom to the second floor late Thursday, Student Council members let off cheers of celebration for a good turnout this year.

Mr. Mullarkey said, “Thanks to all of the students for decorating my office with food! You did a great job!”
