On Thursday, May 17, Principal Mrs. Camille Jowanna recognized junior Meagan Gonzalez for her perfect score of 36 on the ACT Exam, one of two qualifying exams for college admissions .
The ACT site explains that a 36 ACT score is in concordance with a 1600 on the SAT: “The ACT and SAT are different tests that measure similar but distinct constructs. The ACT measures achievement related to high school curricula, while the SAT measures general verbal and quantitative reasoning.”
Out of over 1.6 million students who took the exam in 2011, only 704 students earned this composite score. Meagan’s score significantly increases her options for college and opens many doors of opporunities for the future.
The ACT congratulatory letter says, “Your exceptional scores will provide any colleges to which you choose to apply ample evidence of your readiness for the academic rigors that lie ahead.”
Gonzalez received congratulations from students and faculty for her outstanding performance on this important college admissions exam.
