The Senior Class of 2012 took over Academy in the late hours of the night before and early morning of Thursday, May 3, in preparation for the traditional senior prank. Seniors used aspects of college life as the focus for their “decorations” throughout the school.
A small group were allowed access to the school the night before at 9:00 for an hour. The group returned to Academy with the rest of their classmates at 4:30, but finally were allowed in at 6:00. The girls worked diligently setting up the perfect prank.
Seniors stopped each student as they drove into the parking lot, checked their ID, and allowed them to proceed into the parking lot. The girls continued over the bridge squirted by the seniors with water guns. With caution tape, bubbles in the fountain, and Saran wrap, the girls’ decorations took over the courtyard. They decorated the fourth floor in the football aspect of college, covering the floor with their own rendition of a football field. An Axe spray aroma filled the hallways along with the sophomore locker room’s “locker room” look. The third floor was covered in blankets and sleeping bags to create the dorm aspect of college. The second floor lobby was decorated as sorority row , including Greek decorations.
Seniors concluded their final day of classes with the traditional senior run, which starts on the fourth floor and proceeds throughout the halls of the high school, ending at the pool across the bridge. The prank and run are the beginning of the final stretch of the Senior Class’s graduation events.
