After winning the championship for 2A-District 9 this past Friday, April 13, the AHN track team headed for region semi-finals on Thursday, April 19, in Titusville and qualified for next weekend’s FHSAA 2A Finals in the following events:
– 4 x 800m Relay (Christina Snyder, Natalie Hahn, Colleen Doherty, Melissa Mainzer, Alternate Elise Heiman)
– 300m Hurdles and Long Jump: Ryann McEnany (broke her own school record in the long jump)
– 1600m and 3200m: Colleen Doherty
At the District meet, the following Academy track athletes earned district titles:
•Junior Ryann McEnany: Long Jump, 100m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles
•Freshman Colleen Doherty: Mile (1600m), 2 Mile (3200m)
•Sophomore Natalie Hahn: 1/2 Mile (800m)
•Senior Sarah Davis: Triple Jump
Track team members also competing in the regional semi-finals were sophomore Becca Patterson, sophomore Melissa Mainzer. sophomore Haley Ratchford, freshman Siobhan Lynch, freshman Jazymne McCloud, sophomore Cristina Snyder, sophomore Victoria Metzger, sophomore Elise Heiman, and sophomore Vallie Joseph.
