Academy spring sports athletes and their families, along with their coaches and Academy administration, celebrated their record-setting accomplishments on Wednesday evening, May 2, in the Brady Center. As District, Region and/or States qualifiers, students receiving awards and commendations represented the best of an outstanding team effort by all four sports.
Mr. Kevin Vargas, Athletic Director, said, “It truly has been a remarkable athletic year for AHN, and the spring teams helped to put an exclamation mark on what our student-athletes and our coaches were able to achieve in 2011-12. We look forward to the challenge of trying to live up to the standards that this phenomenal group of athletes have helped to set.”
The Best Senior Athlete Award went to Amanda McWilliams for her participation in basketball and volleyball. Natalie Hahn won Three Sport Athlete Award in Cross Country, Basketball, and Track, as did Alexandra Reichert in Cross Country, Soccer, and Track.
