On the second day of the tournament, the ladies got a taste of playing the Doral’s Blue Monster, a famous course played on by pros such as Tiger Woods, and the site of the Doral Open, a well known standard on the PGA tour. On Friday the team played the course known as the Great White, which is scheduled for renovation by new owner Donald Trump so that it matches the Blue Monster in competitive challenge.
After more than 10 hours and 36 holes of golf, the team had battled a series of gusty winds, torrential downpour, and stifling heat to place fourth. The obstacles and tough competition that the team had to overcome set a positive tone for the team’s ultimate goal of a state run this fall.
The team’s next competition is this Thursday, September 20, at the Mustang Invitational tournament at Seminole Lake Country Club.
