Preparations are in place to set off the most favorite week of all for Academy students. During the week of March 18 – 22, Academy students have time to take a break from classes and pursue their interests in a variety of opportunities both on-campus and off-campus.
Mrs. Dana Nazaretian, Mini Course Coordinator, and her committee now have the chance to see their hard work pay off. Her committee of hard-working students includes seniors Caroline de Quesada, Caroline Dolan, Taylor Hernandez, Marisa Infante, Erin Przedpelski, and Alex Viso and juniors Alexia Acebo, Alana Adams, Kendall Bopp, Hannah Crall, Kristen Dawson, and Cristina Snyder.
Mrs. Nazaretian expects Academy girls will enjoy what is in store for them. “Students will have lots of fun educational opportunities and a nice little break away from their regular academic schedule.”
Taylor Hernandez, a senior on the committee, agrees and is confident that this year’s Mini Course will be the best one yet. “I’ve never been more excited for Mini Course. It’s going to be really awesome because we’ve planned so much stuff to do.”
In place of club meetings on March 13, students attended Mini Course meetings with the teacher moderator(s) of each course. During those meetings, students learned about the course’s important details, such as what to wear or bring, if needed.
Mini Course Week 2013 features trips to Epcot, London, and a CSPA conference in New York. Students also have the option to explore college campuses on their own individual college trips.
AHN missionaries have anxiously waited for this week. Over a hundred students will put their faith into action while embarking on mission trips to East Tampa, Ruskin, Mississippi, Appalachia, and Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, girls can learn new talents by participating in on-campus seminars, such as cake decorating, ink embossing, kickboxing, and special effects cinematography make-up.
