Ambassadors ring in money for Annual Fund

Academy’s annual Phonathon was a huge success, raising over $55,000. The goal for this year was to have donors give $132, $1 for each year since the school’s founding. This $132 per donor would hopefully lead to the achievement of the overall goal of $40,000. However, pledges far exceeded expectations and reached a grand total of $55,124!

This event is one of Academy’s biggest fundraisers, and it also helps update alumni on the school’s latest events. The money raised through Phonathon goes towards the Annual Fund, which helps maintain Academy’s educational programs. This year, the fund focuses on assisting students with financial need. Over 20% of current AHN students receive financial assistance that enables them to attend Academy.

The AHN ambassadors gathered on the third floor board room to call the school’s alumni starting on Sunday, February 25. Over the following four days, the girls worked for a total of 220 hours and reached out to over 2,500 alumni.

Phonathon was a great success for all involved, and much of the credit must be given to the hardworking Ambassadors, Alumni Board of Directors, and faculty and staff of Academy. Director of Alumni Relations, Mrs. Patty Bohannan, was ecstatic about the success of the 2013 Phonathon, as well as all the time and effort put forth by the Ambassadors.  “I was very impressed with the ambassadors’ ability to connect with the alumni. I know that the alumni enjoyed hearing the voices of the Academy of the future.”
