Academy Holds its Twelfth Annual Poetry Out Loud

February 2, 2021

Every year, all Academy high-schoolers are required to participate in Poetry Out Loud, a national competition created to encourage the study and appreciation of poetry among teenagers. Students pick a poem to recite to their class, and the top performer from each grade is selected to compete in a school-wide competition. For Academy’s Twelfth Poetry Out Loud event, Reagan Miller (‘24), Riley Rubio (‘23), Leslie Sanchez (‘22), and Kaitlin Lezama (‘21) were chosen to recite their poems for a panel of judges. Sanchez was awarded first place, Miller second, Lezama third, and Rubio fourth.
