The Jesuit Masque production of Beetlejuice was a smash hit during its run from April 11-12 on the Jesuit campus.  The play featured the acting talents of Academy students Sara Allison, Khalei McKown, Bridget Davis, Emily Dever, Emily Rodriguez, and Caroline de Quesada.

The original production, written by the director of the Jesuit Masque, Austin Freeman, featured an ensemble cast of both Academy and Jesuit students performing a stage adaptation of the popular 1988 film.

The play revolves around Adam and Barb Maitland who have recently died in a car accident. Although they are dead, they are unable to leave their house. When a new family moves in,the couple tries in vain to them out of their home. Finally, they call upon the bizarre bio-exorcist, Beetlejuice, to remove the eccentric family from the Maitland’s house forever! Yet, when Beetlejuice arrives, everything goes horribly wrong.

The fact that the cast of Beetlejuice has been rehearsing since early February was obvious in their excellent timing and delivery of a script laden with quick repartee and sight gags.

Sara Allison expressed her enthusiasm for the production. “This has been by far my favorite show that I have been a part of at Jesuit. Everyone is so talented. I really think that the audience enjoyed the show and thought that it was hilarious.”
