Catholic Schools Week kicks off with Mass, a mission, and Malibu
Academy ladies entered the Brady Center ready to begin Catholic Schools Spirit Week with the way the school starts everything, prayer. If you looked around the room, yellow sweaters and mass shirts filled the room. Father Bruce kicked off the week reminding us of our values: faith, knowledge, and service.
Sophomore Lily Oliva started the Mass of with an overview explaining how important Catholic Schools Week is. This week is to remind us how lucky and special Academy girls are to be part of a Catholic institution. The whole high school will be attending various places tomorrow to do great community service.
Mr. Paul Kratz (Junior Frances Kratz’s father) came to share his experience at the Holy Names High School in Lesotho, Africa. His presentation helped remind the girls how important and impactful community service can be, and it was even more impressive that he helped benefit our sister school in Africa!
This Mass and Mr. Kratz helped set the mood for Academy students for this week that is celebrated across the country to promote Catholic students faith and importance in the community. After the Mass, the girls were thrilled to accessorize with Malibu themed sunglasses, ribbons, socks, bracelets, lei’s and more.
