7 Essentials for your Purse
Most people do not leave home without a purse. Purses can be the perfect statement piece to an otherwise boring outfit, and they are also a very practical way to carry belongings.
Junior Audrey Anello shares,”I carry a purse to keep all my stuff that I might need organized, and plus they’re super cute.”
Now that you have a convenient way to carry around belongings, what essentials should your purse be filled with? Below are seven items that everyone should carry in their purse.
1. Chapstick
One must-have item to keep in a purse is chapstick. Carrying around a handy chapstick ensures that your lips will stay moisturized. Some favorite brands include Vaseline and Eos. Chapstick comes in different flavors and sizes, which make it very portable.
Junior Teresa Toranzo eagerly reports, “Blistex is the best chapstick I own. It’s packed with moisturizers to make your lips feel smooth for hours.”
Some opt to keep chapstick inside a car, however, it easily melts there- so a purse is the best place for chapstick.
2. Student ID or Driver’s License
Not only is it important to have your ID with you for safety purposes, but it can also help save money. A variety of places that accept IDs include J.Crew and AMC Movie theaters. Several locations prefer college IDs, but most will accept an Academy ID.
3. Wet Wipes
Wet wipes are especially important if you are in the mood to smuggle chinese food into a movie theatre using your Longchamp bag (I know from personal experience). Wet wipes are great for easy clean up ranging from kids to food. They take up very little space, and definitely make cleaning up a sticky situation much easier.
4. Portable Charger
In this day and age, it is expected that your phone is always easily accessible. When the battery is running low, a portable charger saves the day.
Math teacher Megan Dubee explains,”One time I was on a duck boat with Ms. Buono and her phone was dying and I let her use my portable charger. It was a good thing I had my charger with me because the duck boat’s breaks went out and we had to be rescued by a trolley.”
Inexpensive chargers can be found at stores including Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls.
5. Rollerball Perfume
Typically, people put perfume on before leaving the house, however when someone is in a rush, it is easy to forget this necessary item. Rollerball perfume is compact which makes it perfect for a purse. They come in every scent imaginable, and can be purchased at any store that sells regular perfume, like Macy’s and Nordstrom.
6. Hair Ties
You leave your house, your hair is straight, you walk into the humidity and suddenly your hair becomes a frizzy mess. If you stock your purse with hair accessories such as hair ties and headbands, in an emergency like this, you will be prepared. A frizzy hair day could quickly turn into a trendy ponytail day.
Freshman Juliana Ferrie expresses,”You never know when you are going to need a hair tie, especially during a science lab or Mrs. Kimbler’s class.”
7. Sunglasses
Living in the Sunshine State, sunglasses are a must. Sunglasses are mostly kept in larger size bags depending on the size of the case or the glasses themselves. Although they take up space, protecting your eyes from UV rays is completely worth it.
Having these seven essentials in your purse will ensure that you are prepared for any situation life might throw at you. Comment below what you keep in your purse!
