DIY Acai Bowl and Homemade Granola

Acai berries, pronounced ah-sigh-EE, come from the acai palm tree, which grows in Central and South America. They’re bluish-purple and similar in size and shape to large blueberries.

Homemade granola is a healthy and delicious snack for anytime of day. While you can just buy granola at your local supermarket, most of the store-bought products are high in sugar and packed with tons of unnecessary ingredients. Whipping up your own at home is super easy, quick, and it also allows you to control the amount of sugar you add in. This recipe is flexible and easy to modify to make it perfect for anyone!

Granola Ingredients:

– 3 cups rolled oats

– 3 tbs light brown sugar

– ½ tsp cinnamon

– ¼ tsp kosher salt

– ⅓ cup honey

– ¼ cup vegetable oil

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

Acai bowls are a great go-to breakfast while on the in a rush or while dieting; however, eating Acai bowls everyday can get pretty pricey very fast. Having to pay eight to twelve dollars for just a bowl of blended up fruit, when you can make on at home for less than two dollars? Don’t think so. Try whipping up one of these tasty smoothie bowls, that will surely please your tastebuds.

Acai Bowl Ingredients:

– 3 cup of nondairy milk (almond)

– 1 Acai packet (Sambazon)

– handful of berries

– ½ frozen banana

– toppings of choice
