Ms. Weiss fills important classroom spots

Another one of our talented new teachers we welcome aboard this year is Ms. Rachel Weiss. Ms. Weiss has taken on not one, but two teaching subjects: Government and New Testament. She attended Clearwater Central Catholic where, in her junior year of high school, because inspired by one of her own teachers to become an educator.  This USF graduate spent her senior year as an assistant to a girl in a wheel chair in a Pinellas County Public School.

As a compassionate person,  Ms. Weiss believes that her ability to relate to her students is one of her strengths. She shares that her  favorite thing about teaching at Academy is the ability to be united in prayer with her students. Praying at the beginning of each class allows her to understand her students’ connection of her class to their own lives.

Ms. Weiss also compliments AHN students on their driven and hardworking attitudes. When asked if she could give one piece of advice to her students, she responded that all of her students should have realistic goals and limits for themselves, but not be afraid to push those limits.

A day in the life of Ms. Weiss involves reading, especially works by Neil Gaymond, her favorite author and skimming through her favorite series of comic books, Fables. She also expressed  her love for swing dancing, which allows her to wind down and learn something new. She also dabbles in the art of  baking, a favorite pastimes shared with many girls at AHN.

Ms. Weiss admits to being a very open person, so if ever given the chance AHN should get to know her and her many interesting interests and talents.
