The class of 2017 is already very close, but they will have many more opportunities to bond at fun events during Senior year.

Senior year is often thought of as a stressful year of worrying about colleges or a sad year full of saying goodbyes. However, there are many exciting things for Juniors to look forward to in their final year. Listed below are five of the most significant events of Senior year.

Senior Sleepover

  • The Senior sleepover is something that most underclasswomen look forward to since their first day at Academy. It is a great way for the entire class to spend a fun night together and bond before the final school year starts. The sleepover concludes the next morning when the Seniors all run in together to the pep rally at orientation.
  • “I’m excited to be able to hang out with the entire grade and get to spend time with people who I don’t usually talk to all the time,” comments Junior Hope Rossi.

Senior Nights

  • Senior Night is a tremendous way to celebrate the success of Senior athletes. Many athletes have put in massive amounts of time to their specific sport at Academy throughout their years playing. The night acknowledges all the hard-work, dedication, and contributions that each individual gave to their team.
  • Junior Hannah Mendez confesses, “I am excited to have that night to reminisce on all of the previous games I have played, but it is going to be sad because then it will hit me that after this year there is no more high school soccer.”

Grad Bash

  • Grad Bash is a special experience that seniors everywhere get to experience. For one night, the grade gets to go to the Universal theme parks and interact with seniors from all different schools. The night is filled with many fun activities including special performances from famous singers.
  • I am so excited to have the whole park shut down just for my classmates, fellow grads, and I and to stay up all night with all my sisters,” says Audrey Dunn (11).

Senior Lounge

  • Another thing that many Academy girls look forward to since their first day is access to the Senior lounge. The lounge is a place where all the Seniors gather to hang out and listen to music before school, at break, and during lunch. Past seniors often regard it as one of their favorite privileges of Senior year.
  • Olivia Porcaro (11) states, “I cannot wait for the Senior lounge next year because I am excited to listen to music and have dance parties with all my friends.”

Graduation

  • Although graduation is sad because it signals the end of high school, it is a very special ceremony that celebrates each student. The week leading up to graduation is full of different events to celebrate the Seniors, and graduation is the final celebration. It is also exciting because it signals a new beginning as the Seniors venture off to college.
  • “I am looking forward to graduation because it will be a bitter-sweet end to the last four years as well as an exciting beginning to a new chapter in everyone’s life,” says Allie Weachter (11).
