Sunday, November 7, turned out to be a perfect day for highlighting Academy life to prospective students and parents. The weather was cool and sunny, and Tampa Bay sparkled in the background.
Donating their Sunday afternoon from noon until three were scores of AHN Ambassadors and club members who displayed their activities and answered questions, as well as teachers and administrators who shared their love and enthusiasm for Academy.
The afternoon included a program in the Brady Center North, with a welcome and prayer by Ms. Jacqueline Wilson, Enrollment Director, and opening remarks by Dr. Harry Purpur, Academy President. Words of inspiration followed from Sister Ann Regan, SNJM, and Dr. Nina Uzzle-Harris A’82 with the closing address by Enrollment Assistant Ms. Pam Doherty. Austin Jurado, a Jesuit student and Academy lower school graduate, provided a timely perspective on his Academy years.
High school families attended their choices of guidance presentations, a student panel with Ambassador members, campus tours, or a chance to speak to teachers and students in Brady Center South. Lower school families met with teachers in their classrooms.
The success of the day reflected in the words of Ambassador Gabby Babin, who did not mind giving up her Sunday: “I love to show people the Academy and talk about student life here.”
