Fun fall activities in and around Tampa Bay

October 27, 2022

Fall is finally here! Often times the season changes in the Sunshine State go unnoticed. To get out of the Summer vibe and cruise into Fall, here are some fall festivities to make you feel ready for some cooler weather!

Sadie Patrick ’24 said, “I love going to the Hyde Park Pumpkin patch because I find it so fun to pick out a pumpkin. I love to carve them and take their seeds out in order to bake them and add cinnamon and sugar on top.”

  • The Raprager Family Farm Fall Festival

This festival is sure to provide entertainment for the whole family. Attractions include axe throwing, pumpkin painting, an inflatable maze, a haunted barn, hay rides, a petting zoo, a hay chute slide, and more. The festival started September 17th and will end November 13th. The festival is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and is located at 16907 Boy Scout Rd, Odessa, FL, 33556. The cost of admission is $15.25-$16.95 for ages three and up depending on the purchase date. Admission is free for children two and under.

  • Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail

This spooktacular event comprises of three haunted trails, laser tag, and an escape room! The cost of admission can vary from $27 to $37. Sir Henry’s Trail takes place from September 30th to November 1st on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The address is 2837 S Rd in Plant City. The haunted trails are considered inappropriate for children under the age of twelve, so younger children should refrain from coming.

For some simple ideas to get into the Fall spirit, try some of the following:

  • Watch a scary or fun Halloween movie

One of my personal favorites is Hocus Pocus, but more popular Halloween movies include Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Addams Family!

  • Order one of Starbucks’ famous Fall items.

Pumpkin spice is everything. Starbucks Fall items range from a pumpkin cream cheese muffin to pumpkin spice lattes. I especially like to get my muffin warmed on my way to late start on Wednesdays.

Laura Collins ’24 said, “I love pumpkin spice and it puts me in the autumn mood.”

  1. Make a Fall-scented candle at Candle Pour in Hyde Park

Candle Pour is a boutique where clients can mix together scents and create a custom candle of their choice. Enjoy the Fall season by making a pumpkin spice candle. Other scents are available to help spice up your room.

  • Try some of the Fall scents from Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works specializes in soaps and hand sanitizers, and is recognized for its amazing Fall and Halloween scents. I recently purchased the Vampire Blood diamond shimmer mist in order to add a little sparkle to my day.
