Interact Club has successful turnout for fall blood drive

Academy girls signed up in force for the Interact blood drive this year despite a change in dates when the blood bank requested the drive be moved from November 18 to November 11. To complicate the time schedule, the Veterans Day Mass had been planned for the same day.

Despite the packed schedule Academy girls found time to put out their arms and allow the blood drive staff to do the rest. They racked up a total of 41 pints.

Interact Club provided breakfast and lunch for the donors to ensure they were in good health. Interact members followed the advice of their moderator Mrs. Rebecca Zambrano’s and “acted as mommies” for the donors by making sure the donors were comfortable. The shortened Mass schedule and number of donors proved a busy day.

I was really excited about all of the new donors that came to donate this year,” said Mrs. Rebeca Zambrano, who worked behind the scenes making sure the Interact Club ran the event smoothly.

“I’m proud of the new Interact members. It was their first blood drive,” said Interact Vice President Nicole Bramwell.  “This event would not have been a success without the involvement of every member.” Says Bramwell.

Donors included Sophia Baldor, Cara Millburg, Jacqueline Moreda, Lillian Guinta, Alexandra Viso, Erin Przadpleski, Annie Polo, Noelle Keith, Christina Lodato, Sophia Miranda, Caitlyn Herlihy, Amanda Damico, Gabrielle Sanabria, Brynn Wiley,  Kaitlyn Garrett, Mrs. Marcy Kant, Sophia Livingston,  Lauren Collins, Rachelle Eltbuayek, Alex Piccilli,  Ashlee  Wallace, Windi Sanchez, Anne-Marie Trang, Nicole Bramwell, Rae Knopik, Allison Babin, Katie McCormick,  Christen Daigle, Aubrey McGuire, Jane Lazzara,  Sarah Shakespeare,  Mrs. Dana  Nazaretian, Gabriel Kelly, Tyler Ruppel,  Melanie, Huamani, Dominique Hogan, Sumble Sadiq,  Jacqueline Henderson, Michelle Ebrada, Sarah Port, Victoria Sierra,  Caroline de Quesada, Morgan Welch, Katherine Quimbayo,  Amanda Schifino, Mary Kay Zigzay,  and Cavesha Anderson.
