In the final game junior Erin Przedpelski shows her fearless form at the net.

Academy volleyball celebrated Senior Night in grand style with a close competitive performance against Tampa Catholic, winning  3-2.  The girls played with heart and skill and ended their last regular-season home game with great promise for districts and regionals.

Prior to the beginning of the game, seniors Amanda Mc Williams, Olivia Jones, Marry Patterson and Brynn Wiley received thanks and praise for their contributions to the team. With fellow team members making speeches for each senior, the girls truly felt as if they were part of a life-long family.

The teams finished warming up and set up on either side of the net, making eye contact with one another that said, “You’re going down!”

The first set TC rallied point for point against AHN in a fight to the finish. The second set the Jags knew they had to step it up and beat the Crusaders. The Jags rallied ahead to make the score a 1-1 record. Set three was even more of a battle. The middle of the match and both teams knew they had to maintain focus and persevere through all the exhaustion. The Jags carried the momentum from their win in the third set onto the fourth. TC was fired up and not ready to back down from a fight in the fourth set. The record was 2-2 going into the fifth and final set. 15 points to go and both teams were not going to give up. Point by point until the final kill of the game made by Freshman, Becca Prossen brought the score to 17-15. The Jags pulled thorugh and won the match!

The last home game for the seniors in their regular volleyball season turned out to be one of the best nights the girls had ever experienced. The Jags will go on to Districts to play TC again on Tuesday, October 25. Go Jags!
