With the Super Bowl just days away, anticipation is being reached as football fans, teams, and performers make their final touches in preparation for one of the year’s biggest sports events. Whether people are tuning in for the game, commercials, or halftime show, this annual game has a huge cultural impact.

On the field, coaches and players are mentally and physically preparing to play in the most important football game held in the U.S. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are familiar with each other in the big game, with Super Bowl 57 consisting of the Chiefs beating the Eagles 35-38. The Chiefs have gone to the Super Bowl five times in their last six seasons.

According to Fox Sports, the Eagles have a 48.8% chance of being Super Bowl champions. Eagles Quarterback, Jalen Hurts, stated that facing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl 59 has lit a fire inside of him, as he is ready to gain redemption from Super Bowl 57.

Addyson Moad (‘26) adds, “I think Kansas City is going to win based on their past track record but I think it will still be a tough close game.”

As for the halftime show of the superbowl, Kendrick Lamar will take the stage with special guest SZA. These two have collaborated on several songs together such as All the Stars, and Luther from Kendrick’s new album. Fans are hoping that these two singers perform at least one of these songs. Kendrick Lamar has had his experience with the Super Bowl, in 2022 he performed alongside Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J.Blige.

Many restaurants and bars are offering special deals to attract crowds, and grocery stores are racking up on party essentials.
