By the end of the day on Friday, April 19, Academy blood donors had given 47 pints for a single drive, exceeding its goal by 10 pints. Several students had to be turned away because the mobile unit ran out of bags.
Interact Moderator Mrs. Rebeca Zambrano was enthusiastic in her praise of Academy staff and students. “Thank you, Academy! This is a tribute to all of you for your support of this effort.”
Senior Caroline de Quesada has been the biggest supporter of Interact Club’s blood drives over the years. This drive marked her eighth time donating blood, a cause that is close to Caroline’s heart. “I was once in need of blood after having surgery so I wanted to give back by giving others the gift of life. Just one donation of blood can save up to three lives.”
