Class of 2012 reflects on gifts of the Holy Spirit at Baccalaureate

The Academy family showed its support of graduating Academy seniors with an overflow of guests who attending Christ the King Church on Sunday, May 20, for the Baccalaureate Mass.

In his homily addressed to graduating seniors,  Rev. David L. Toups, Pastor of Christ the King, reminded students that the gifts they can rely on come from the Holy Spirit and that the best way to stay close to the strength and direction from these gifts is by attending weekly Mass and receiving the Holy Eucharist.
 
Academy Worship Band, directed and accompanied by Ms. Linda Ruescher, led the congregation in the seniors’  favorite songs, including  “Christ Be Our Light,”  “There Is One Lord,” “Eat This Bread,” and “Be Not Afraid.”  The musical group also performed  “Laudate Dominum” during Communion.
 
Ushers and altar servers were sister of Academy graduates.  In attendance were  Academy President Mr. and Mrs. Art Raimo, Principal Mrs. Camille Jowanna, and Assistant Principal Mr. Jack Mularkey.  Josie Little gave the first reading from Acts of the Apostles.  The second reading was from I John 4:11-16, and the Gospel was John 17:11b-19.
