Holly Court and Senior Notables announced at Christmas Formal

The circus came to town, or at least to the Museum of Science and Industry part of Tampa on Wednesday evening, December 19, through the Student Council theme for Christmas Formal.

The architecture of the Museum lobby, with its soaring ceilings and contemporary design, made the perfect setting for the circus motif. Featuring aerial dancers, a stilt walker/dancer and DJ entertainers, Academy girls and their dates were dressed in glittering dresses and formal wear  for dancing under the Big Top and well under the giant dinasaur that loomed over the dance floor.

Student Council member Sarah Shakespeare organized the event with the help of SC members, whose final result was a unique evening for AHN students and their dates to remember.

Highlight of the evening was the announcement of senior Annie Polo as Queen of the Holly Court and her Maids:  seniors Anna Cevallos and Madison Allen, juniors Cassidy Gourley and Khalei McKown, sophomores Carly King and Kayla Rodriguez, and freshmen Miranda Plummer and Remi Storch.

Co-Editors of the yearbook Echoes announced the winners of the Senior Notables who will be featured in the 2013 yearbook:

  • Most Likely to Succeed: Meagan Gonzalez
  • Most Athletic: Ryann McEnany
  • Most School Spirit: Ashton Hill
  • Most Dramatic: Morgan Welch
  • Most Artistic: Gracie Gonzalez
  • Most Stressed: Amanda Bell
  • Workaholic: Anna Cevallos
  • Class Clown: Caitlin Herlihy
  • Best Personality: Cara Millburg
  • Best All Round: Arlyn Barlaan

Girls who bought their tickets before December 3 had the opportunity to run for Holly Court. The student body voted for two girls from each grade to be Holly Court Maids. Seniors voted in their homerooms for the Senior Notables.
