Senior tailgate has been a fun, long lasting tradition for rising senior classes. After the current seniors have left the school, the juniors have the opportunity to celebrate that they are going into their last year. Girls bring trucks and jeeps to take pictures on, just like a true tailgate. Girls typically wear cowgirl boots, along with their homemade tie-dye senior shirt.
On Friday May 1, 2026 the class of ‘27 celebrated their senior tailgate. Girls got there bright and early at 6:45 to start taking pictures and to celebrate this symbolic occasion. This tradition isn’t only to dress up and get cute photos, but it is a symbol of the year to come. Girls are excited to step into the shoes of the seniors and enjoy their last year at the Academy.
Rising senior Ella DeBourg (’27) says, “I’ve been looking forwards to senior tailgate for a while, and I had so much fun hanging out with my friends, seeing the first glimpse of our senior year”
This event would not have been possible without the moms of the rising seniors helping to set up and make this moment one to remember. They assisted with setting up the breakfast table and overall made the experience truly special for the girls.
Payton Campillo (’27) says, “Senior tailgate was fun and a great way to start off our senior activities, and taking photos and the breakfast was really nice.”
