Clubs at Academy help students hone in on their passions
There are numerous clubs at Academy that do a whole lot for not only our school, but also for the community around us. Clubs at Academy are very important and are here to help you focus and show your talents.Student council is a club to serve as a communication link between the student body and the faculty and between the council and homerooms; members will play an active role in school activities. Senior Remi Storch, says ” I love student council I wouldn’t change it for the world the excitement and team work as we’ll as being VP is so much fun”.
Whether it’s doing sports, acting, singing ,volunteering or helping the community there are so many different ways to serve or be a part of the AHN family as well as showing your talents. All these individual co-curricular actives we have here help in developing our classmates and sisters into becoming good leaders, responsible and caring young women. Senior Rebecca Castellano was the one who started the club Best Buddies here at Academy it is so inspirational and such a heart touching club to get involved in. She mentions starting the club because, “I think it’s something important to bring to Academy and make sure girls are aware for this foundation before they go to college.”
When choosing a club it is best to make sure it is based on your personality, talents, and what things interest you the most. You don’t want to pick a club just to pick it because your friends joined. Instead, make sure you know what the clubs are all about. Seniors Lily Oliva and Natalie Cevallos talk about how much they enjoyed March for Life sponsored by the Respect for Life club. It is a March that helps defend the lives of unborn babies. Senior Lily Oliva says, “not only was it a great bonding experience but it was also great way to protest for something we all feel strongly about.”
If you want to be involved with school sports and watch your sisters play against other teams Golden Girls club is the way to go: “Golden girls is something that is apart of me so much I love the spirit of the all our sisters cheering on sports and getting everyone pumped for big games,” shares senior member Camille Yodzis.
