Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz speaks on April 18, the day before the New York Primary.

As of April 19, 2016, Hillary Clinton (D.) and Donald Trump (R.) are leading the presidential race. April 19 was the New York primary and Donald Trump won 89 delegates, bringing him closer to his goal of 1,273. This left Kasich with 3 delegates and none for Cruz. Hillary Clinton won the state of New York with 139 delegates and left Sanders with 109. With the race heating up and the pressure on, many of the candidates have been under fire for their remarks. Each candidate, however, has lent in their own unique way some degree of comedic relief.

Ted Cruz

Since Ted Cruz first made his statement about “New York values,” he has been called out numerous times and has clearly upset the people of New York. In the New York Primary on April 19, Cruz came in last place with only 125,783 votes. Trump, on the other hand, won with 523,038 votes. Despite the uproar this comment set in motion, Cruz has had a few good moments trying to forget the whole thing.

The talk about Ted rekindled when he Tweeted a video of himself riding a rollercoaster on April 13 saying, “Many people have compared the ups & downs of a campaign to a roller coaster. Today, we decided to see for ourselves…”

The criticism is mixed, seeing that it’s caused a lot of confusion.

Cruz is trailing behind Donald Trump in delegates. As of now, the delegate count is 845 to 559.

Donald Trump

Donald Trump has been taking fire from Republicans and Democrats alike. He has been called many things, to be specific a “conman” and a “fraud.” His way of speaking, however, has posed many problems for him. This moment however made CNN ask, “Would you guess realDonaldTrump is talking about lobbyists? #bingbing #politics #CNN

Bernie Sanders

Word on the street is that Bernie Sanders got a tip from a bird at one of his recent rallies in Portland Oregon. Soon after the bird flies away Sanders says, “I think, I think there may be some symbolism here… I know it doesn’t look like it but that bird is really a dove asking us for world peace! No more wars!”

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton (a.k.a. “Chillary Clinton”) took social media accounts off guard when she was just chillin in Ceadar Rapids. All it took was a 6 second Snapchat and the internet went crazy. AMIRITE?

John Kasich

John Kasich has an interesting role in this election process. Even though he needs 130% of the remaining delegates to get the nominee, he is still in the race trying to take as many delegates from Trump as he can. His goal is for a contested convention. Kasich is less heard on the news than the other candidates and he hasn’t been as visible as them. On The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, however, the candidate was mocked for his continual ninja-esque hand movements.
