Sarah Davis and her teammates played the backdrop of a Channel 8 report on the “Mighty Mac” women’s basketball team coming to theaters this Friday. Featured in the sports clip is Cathy Rush, Coach of the Mighty Macs, the Immaculata College team that won the first three Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) championships from 1972-74. Rush is a women’s basketball legend for setting the standard for women’s basketball in the early days of collegiate competition. She is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
On hand for interviews were AHN Coach Melissa Ganther and senior co-captain Sarah Davis, who said that she has learned from playing the game “Leadership, teamwork….and valuing your team’s strengths and learning from your weaknesses.”
